![]() This requires low power Bluetooth and a camera OS that knows about Snapbridge. One of the things that Smartbridge can do is to download images from your camera while it's off. I tried your link again and still only found Wi-Fi connectivity which is not Smartbridge. So far, I don't see the Snapbridge app available on iTunes yet only WMU which is not Snapbridge. Snapbridge is an app that has to be part of the camera's OS as well as an app for your smart phone. I think with the D500 they have also added Bluetooth connectivity to Snapbridge as the D500 has Bluetooth but the Snapbridge app and technology and wifi connectivity existed before the D500 showed up. I'm linking to the Snapbridge page on Nikon Canada's site so it may be possible if you are in the US that you are directed elsewhere from my link but Snapbridge has been available for a while for several consumer level bodies, SLR and below. What makes it hard, the Snapbridge specs call for the ability to transfer images while the camera is off.ĭid you scroll to the bottom of the page I linked to? It shows all the Nikon Wifi enabled bodies that Snapbridge works with. If that happens, Nikon should release a Bluetooth adapter. ![]() ![]() I'm not holding my breath but it might be supported on other Nikon DSLRs by a firmware upgrade but Nikon is mum on that. Snapbridge supports Bluetooth Low Energy right now. According to Nikon USA, Snapbridge will only work with Snapbridge enabled cameras which will start in 2016 with the D500. Your link doesn't point to a reference for Snapbridge but rather the WU-1a/b and WMU. Snapbridge works with all of Nikon's Wifi enabled bodies. I think Snapbridge will be replacing WMU app, right now it will only function with the D500, you need to have Bluetooth, and none of the current Nikon cameras on the market have it.
